Almost Polynomial Contraction Mapping Theorem in Metric Spaces
Abstract
In this paper, we introduce the notion of an almost polynomial type contraction mapping operator and obtain a fixed point theorem for such mappings in the setting of metric spaces. Some consequences of the main result and a conjecture are stated. We show that the conjecture may be true by illustrating it with an example.
