Generalized Jordan Derivations of Incidence Algebras

Abstract

For a given ring R.gif and a locally finite pre-ordered set 1234.gif, consider ixr.gif to be the incidence algebra of X over R3.gif. Motivated by a Xiao’s result which states that every Jordan derivation of ixr2.gif is a derivation in the case R1.gif is 2-torsion free, one proves that each generalized Jordan derivation of ixr1.gif is a generalized derivation provided R2.gif is 2-torsion free, getting as a consequence the above mentioned result.
